Information Retrieval and Retrieval-Augmented Generation

This course covers the core techniques of information retrieval, from term-document matrices and tf-idf to dense vector retrieval, and shows how these methods power retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). You'll learn how to evaluate retrieval systems with precision, recall, and MAP, and how RAG systems retrieve passages, generate answers, and cite knowledge. The course also surveys QA datasets and evaluation approaches for question-answering systems.
